"Monastery Door Handle, Tibet, 18/19th Century"
Embossed in gilded copper, the movable handle in an arc of a circle is finished at each end by a makara and is articulated on a lotus flower. The circular cartouche shows four effigies of Buddha separated by an ornamentation of stylized plants. See the two examples of handles in situ on doors (photos)
