"Writing Table, Louis XVI Period, Weisweiler Model"
Mahogany and mahogany veneer writing table. It opens with a removable drawer in the belt forming a writing desk, covered in green morocco with a gilded frieze and central element. The sliding shelf has a retractable leaf. The corners are inlaid with gilded bronze scrapers. It rests on four columns tightened towards the top by rings, decorated with sixteen grooves. Its spinning top feet, also fluted and equipped with a gadrooned ring, are finished with gilded bronze sabots on casters. They are joined by a crotch tray with a concave cutout on the front, surrounded by a gilded bronze belt. The mahogany top is surrounded by a molded gilded bronze ingot mold.
