"Ferd. Pogliani Milano Wardrobe - 19th Century Masterpiece"
Superb two-part wardrobe made by Ferd. Pogliani, a renowned cabinetmaker from Milan in the 19th century. Made of blackened tropical wood, it is decorated with ivory inlays, various and semi-precious stones. It rests on two "S" shaped legs fixed to a rectangular base, supporting a structure with a drawer stamped several times "FERD. POGLIANI EBENISTA MILANO". The upper part includes a two-door cabinet, framed by columns carved in the round, and completed by two small drawers also stamped. The gilded brass fittings, slightly patinated by time, add a touch of elegance to the whole. An openwork brass gallery tops the piece of furniture. The original locks and keys testify to its authenticity and its excellent state of conservation. An exceptional piece, this wardrobe is a testament to Ferd's talent. Pogliani and the refinement of Milanese decorative arts in the 19th century.
