Circa 1870/1875 France Princess line day or walking dress, in two parts, bodice and skirt worn over a bustle cage. Sky blue taffeta embellished with cream starched gauze called tarlatan, finely pleated and crenellated in the Greek style. Boned bodice with long basque buttoned in front with domed buttons in the same. Long skirt with train adorned with the same frills. Volume of the skirt ruffled in a pouf projected back which can be raised by a system of brass rings and cotton cords with pull tabs.
