"Chenillette Embroidery On Silk – Charles X Period"
Embroidery of chenillettes (velvety threads) on silk, representing a saint in prayer, crowned by an angel. Fine embroidery work, highlighting the details of the saint's clothing, the delicate expressions and the richness of the colors. The inscription "Jesus" appears discreetly on the rock at her feet, reinforcing the sacred character of the work. The whole is framed in a magnificent glass églomisé, signed by Hoeth in Lyon, a renowned merchant and manufacturer of engravings and decorations at the beginning of the 19th century. Églomisé, a technique consisting of painting the back of the glass to create ornamental patterns, gives exceptional depth and brilliance to this work. The original gilded frame, from the Charles X period, presents refined ornaments and remarkable chiseling work. Condition: • Embroidery: in excellent condition, without tears or alteration of the silk. • Glass églomisé: in perfect condition, with a visible signature. • Frame: original frame with period patina, in very good condition.
