"Large Old Advertising Poster Art Nouveau Period 1903 Signed By Franc Malzac Canvas-backed"
Large Old Advertising Poster Art Nouveau period dated 1903 and Signed by Franc Malzac. This beautiful poster is very rare on the market for my part I have never found any reference. It was canvassed by a professional. Franc Malzac is a French painter, illustrator and poster artist born on September 17, 1865 in Charentes Maritimes and died on October 28, 1920 in Charentes Maritimes. It measures 144.7 cm x 106 cm (Canvas included) and 137.5 cm x 99 cm (Canvas not included) This Art Nouveau poster representing a couple sowing the earth advertises the Chemical Fertilizers Bertrand Père & Fils & Cie whose factories were located in La Rochelle, La Palisse and Bassens. The mention of "Father" has been partly hidden which proves that the poster must have been used during the lifetime of Mr. Bertrand père and after his death by his children. It was printed by Imprimerie Publicitaire Charles Verneau at 114 Rue Oberkampf in Paris for Affiches Franc Malzac de Bordeaux. It bears its stamp at the top right. Very good condition. (I am selling on Proantic another poster by Franc Malzac for the Bertrand establishments, different from this one and from the same estate).
