"Louis XV Period Capuchin Desk"
Tilting desk called Capuchin desk. The Capuchin desk is a piece of furniture that can be transformed, the top folds down to reveal a circular step reminiscent of the hood of the religious order of the Capuchins, it comes from the invention by Antoine Gaudreaux (around 1680-1751) of the first secretary delivered for Marie Leszcynska in 1733. Our desk is stamped by Pierre Garnier (1726-1800), mastery obtained on December 31, 1742, Pierre Garnier is among the great cabinetmakers of his century.
