He studied at the fine arts of Brussels and Antwerp and became a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. He excelled in painting flowers and portraits, he was one of the portraitists of King Albert I, Belgian Royal Family. Jean Laudy belonged to the post-impressionist painters movement, he liked to combine the contrast of colors. Our painting is a modernist composition where bouquets of flowers in bright colors, let's lemon and ceramics are juxtaposed. A bright light spreads on a milky background. The touch is lively and light.
