With a gentle face and fresh eyes, this young aristocrat has neither jewelry nor sophisticated hairstyle, she seems to have worn this black sackcloth dress either as a penance, or to echo a representation of saints or a pious image; piety underlined by an elegant gesture of the hand caressing the cord.
