Large and magnificent portrait of an aristocrat in a black sackcloth dress girded with a simple cord. With a gentle face and fresh eyes, this young aristocrat has neither jewelry nor sophisticated hairstyle, she seems to have worn this black sackcloth dress either as a penance, or to echo a representation of saints or a pious image; piety underlined by an elegant gesture of the hand caressing the cord. Oil painting from the early 18th century, probably of foreign origin of Catholic obedience.
