The "Ceramica Artistica Ciulli" factory was founded in Sesto Fiorentino in some rooms of his house by Alfredo Ciulli in 1912.
In 1918 the headquarters of the small factory, whose production was centered on imitations of the models of the Della Robbia and Renaissance tradition, was moved to Via Galilei and the company employed only three workers.
In 1924 the business was sold to the ceramist Bruno Fontani and a few years later Fontani sold a share of the company to Dorvale Gentili and the company name became "Gentili & Fontani".
In the second half of the 1920s, Mario Filippucci from Pesaro collaborated with the company.
In 1930 the factory employed over thirty workers and in 1937 Bruno Fontani remained the sole owner.
The business was suspended during the Second World War and the early 1950s saw ownership pass into the hands of Gino Bettazzi, already an employee of the company.
In 1953, among the decorators active at the company, which has its registered office in Sesto Fiorentino in Piazza della Chiesa 34/A, we find Ruggero Vannucci.
Gino Bettazzi died in 1960 and his heirs managed the factory until 1982, the year in which they handed over ownership to Luciano Gensini.
The company is still in production.
