Tanto - Ansei era (1855-1860). Finely chiseled silver Kashira and Kojiri with cloud pattern, one half with brown patina. Ringed brown lacquer Tsuka. Finely chiseled circular gilt copper menukis with coiled dragon decoration. Red powdered lacquer saya. Finely chiseled Kozuka with decoration of two dragons facing each other on a nanako background, unsigned. Straight blade, Sakasa-choji hamon resembling the Aoe school, well marked and regular, the tang signed Toshitane. Notes: Toshitane was an apprentice of Ishido Korekazu and an exclusive craftsman of the Tango Miyazu clan. At the end of the Edo period, many thick Yoroidoshi Tanto were made.
