Louis XIII Columned Castle Bed, 19th Century.

This castle bed called a canopy is a Louis XIII style bed with 4 twisted columns supporting a canopy. Built entirely of oak, this bed dates from the second half of the 19th century, it is richly molded and carved with fantastic animals, cartouches in the shape of coats of arms, numerous scrolls, crenellated friezes and heart stripes. Of beautiful quality of manufacture, this bed is highlighted by upholstery work with quality fabric, ruby color with floral pattern enriched with pompom trimmings, braids and golden fringes, this set consists of 2 large curtains, a headboard curtain, a bedspread, a canopy and 3 valances. Comfortable and solid, it is completely dismountable, it can thus be easily placed in a bedroom. The woods have been cleaned and waxed. The bed benefits from a new slatted base as well as a 27 cm thick mattress also new.
