1st Empire travel pistol. Lock marked "LEPAGE" (gunsmith under Louis XVI, Napoleon I and restoration, born in 1779, died 1822). Round barrel with thunder face and smooth interior, muzzle diameter: 12 mm. Iron fittings and baleen ramrod. Walnut stock and barrel with large tail metal cap. Trigger under trigger guard with engraving extending forward and towards the cap. Mechanism in perfect working order. LEPAGE: gunsmith and inventor, filed a patent for firing by mercury fulminate primer in June 1810.
