Under the original glass we find the effigies of Saints Ambrose, Gregory Martyr, Augustine and Geronimo engraved by the German Katharina Klauber (1740-1813) belonging to the well-known family of engravers from Augusta in Germany specialized in sacred images of exceptional quality. Specifically the etchings depict:
S. Gregorius M. Conscripsit sermones rectissimos et veritate plenos. Eccles.12.10;
S. Ambrosius Sunt quaedam difficilia intellectu 2.Petr.3.16;
S. Augustinus Tria sunt difficilia mihi. Pov.30.18;
S. Hieronymus Columnae Coeli contremiscunt et pavent. Iob.26.11.
The engravings are framed by a red line with a light blue passepartout. In good age related condition, the items show minimal signs of humidity.
