"18th Century Silver Frame Box With Enamel Cage"
This beautiful oval box with a hinged lid is decorated on all sides with six panels of enamel on copper with patterns of garlands of flowers in diagonal bands on an alternating white and textured gold background."Cage" mount in silver hallmarked scallop shell, discharge mark Paris between 1756 and 1762.
The interior is lined with a silver leaf embossed with a concentric wavy pattern.
The interior bottom is also lined with a sheet of paper with a colored pattern resembling a playing card figure.
Superb condition for this mid-18th century box!
Please note: Interior lining showing some folds and peeling.
Small restoration to the decoration of the bottom of the right side panel.
