"Reliquary Of Saint Lucy, Virgin And Martyr, Byzantine Style, France Around 1900"
Impressive reliquary ("Ex oss. Stae Lucia VM): round capsule (3.5 cm diameter) in gilded brass, housing under glass a tiny fragment (relic) of Saint Lucy, surrounded by small glass cabochons (diamond cut). The frame of the reliquary in openwork cruciform filigree with leaf decoration surrounded by glass cabochons and four enamel roundels (cloisonné) representing Byzantine Crosses; at the top: Cross consisting of five reddish glass cabochons. On the reverse, under cover: Episcopal seal in red wax. Manufactured in France at the end of the 19th century. Good condition.
