19th Century Micro Mosaic Doves Brooch 15 Carat Gold

This lovely amati gold brooch is decorated with a micro mosaic representing two doves courting each other among flowers on a turquoise background. This central motif is surrounded by an oval ogee frame between two twisted gold wire frames, then by four segments of micro mosaic with blue, red and white tesserae punctuated by four gold granules.
A final ogee frame forms the outer rim. Concave amati gold back. Old safety clasp but later than the creation of the jewel.
Gold metal pin. Not hallmarked, gold tested between 14 and 18 carats with a touchstone (Etruscan-style jewelry from this period was often in 15 carat gold!).
Motif in perfect condition! 19th century period, Venetian micro mosaic around 1860.

Please note: Some tiny gaps on the periphery of the frame.
