"Carved Wooden Soldier's Piggy Bank - French 92nd Infantry Regiment - "
Piggy bank in carved wood, patinated and enhanced with red and white paint, forming a coffin. The top in half-relief is carved with a bed where a naked woman indicates with her right hand the direction of the slot to slide the coins. The opening of the bank is located at the upper part of the lid by a small wooden plate closed by two screws on which is engraved "JC 1Cie 92 RI". Work of a soldier of the 92nd Infantry Regiment, France, 20th century. Probably for collective use, a kitty.
