"Neoclassical Lombard Secretaire"
Neoclassical secretaire made at the end of the 18th century. Made with two doors in the base, a drop-leaf door with a cabinet and a drawer under the top. Made of walnut and then veneered and inlaid in various woods, including walnut, Indian walnut, rosewood, boxwood, maple and more. Inlaid candelabra on the uprights and feet; Greek fret with leaves on the base upright, with rosettes in the centre, while the band under the top containing the drawer is inlaid with a repeated motif of a classical vase faced by dolphins with acanthus leaves in their mouths. In the centre of the quadripartite rosewood reserves of the doors, rosettes inlaid with stylised landscapes. Internal cabinet composed of two rows of drawers and open letter holders, treated leather top. Original hardware.
