Traveling artist,
Gabrielle Ferrand born in Bordeaux where she was a student at the Beaux-Arts. She lived in Indonesia between 1922 and 1925, from there she traveled between the islands of Java and Bali, where she captured characters and scenes of daily life. Back in France, she helped to make Indonesia known through exhibitions and conferences.
