Polychrome terracotta
H. 32.8 cm, length 18 cm
Tripod vase with a stylised jaguar head in relief and two other felines painted in black and red ochre.
The feet are openwork to serve as bells, and the circular neck is decorated with a frieze of geometric motifs.
The jaguar is an emblematic feline of pre-Columbian civilisations. Here it represents a shaman transformed into the spirit of the jaguar.
