Inspired by Constantin Brâncusi's Bird in Space, the iconic Clio statue was originally designed by Georg Olden in 1960 for the Clio Awards.
Olden, was a gifted and prolific African-American, graphic designer who went on to win 7 Clio Awards in his career.
(The Clios, world's most recognizable international advertising awards, were founded in 1959 by Wallace Ross, to celebrate creative excellence in advertising around the world.
Clio, in Greek mythology is one of the nine Muses - the patron of history. She is often represented with a parchment scroll or a set of tablets and is also known as the Proclaimer. The name is from the root κλέω/κλείω - "to recount" or "make famous".
The Clio presented here is a more stylized version. One with arms stretched high and forming an infinity circle.
