"Gothic Reliquary Monstrance - Circa 1500 "
In gilded copper, our reliquary comes from the Reinhold Hofstatter collection. A work from the end of the 15th century. Resting on a foot, a finely engraved stem receives a hexagonal glass niche. It is topped with a ribbed dome surmounted by a Latin cross.The relics placed in the ampoule are probably later. They are ex-ossibus relics, probably of Saint Catherine of Alexandria (phylactery difficult to read) in a blown glass ampoule and protected by a seal. Used condition for this ancient piece of more than 500 years.
Dimensions for the foot of 14 cm - height of 32 cm and 10 cm wide.
