Important covered pot with a rich decoration of Egyptian inspiration. The belly is decorated with flowers, facing snakes, directly taken from the ornamentation of Egyptian temples and tombs. The lid whose grip takes up the face of the goddess Hathor from the temple of Denderah. We can compare this work to the work of Giuseppe Parvis, active in Paris at the end of the 19th century, specializing in furniture and objects in the Egyptian style. The base of our covered pot is in onyx. Good condition (slight shocks to the lid and base). Verd 1880.
