Oval pastel mounted on a frame. An obvious grace emerges from this delightful portrait of a young bourgeois woman executed in pastels with delicacy and realism. A neutral and colorful background which opportunely emphasizes the model, the finesse of her features, the delicacy of her bust wrapped in lace. A rich palette, a whole range of colors ranging from white, off-white to pink for the soft complexion of the face, infinite subtle and velvety nuances that only pastel allows. It is highlighted by its exceptional original frame of very high quality in gilded wood with a double shiny and matte patina. Mounting and protective glass also original. On the back, there remains a fragment of the label of the framer who had a shop on Rue du Jeu de Paume in Montpellier.
