Ceramano was born in Belgium in 1829 and died in Barbizon in 1909. He was a painter of genre, animals and landscapes. He was a student of Charles Jacque, whom he helped for a time and of whom he was later an imitator. He worked for forty years in Barbizon. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris in 1893, 1895 and 1897. His flocks of sheep and his sheepfold interiors are mentioned.
