JAPAN - Meiji period (1868-1912). Oval jingasa, slightly domed, in glossy black lacquered wood decorated in gold hira-makie with the mon of the MIMURA clan (lacquer restorations). It is topped with a fake thehen no ana (opening at the top) with four degrees. The edge is glossy black lacquered. The interior is red lacquered (re-lacquered). Chin rest and pad in blue and white silk. Dimensions: 12 x 35.7 x 38 cm.
