On 31 October 1967 for the State Opening of Parliament Queen Elizabeth II of England came to the House of Lords with her family to read a speech written by Prime Minister Harold Wilson, calling for changes limiting the hereditary membership of the upper house of Parliament.
Her husband Philip Mountbatten, Prince Consort, Duke of Edinburgh, born Prince of Greece and Denmark, is seated next to the Queen, the Prince Charles and Princess Anne took their first seats at a ceremony.
Left, Lord Shackleton learning the cap from my father, Lord Montgomery, at night with the Sword of State.
I should point out that the original photo is perfectly clear, unlike my poor-quality shots.
