Object description :

"Clock "young Woman In The Mirror" Farret"
Large clock of very beautiful manufacture of the Napoleon III period, stamped on the mechanism "Farret à Paris", clockmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French clockmakers. Massive architecture in Carrara marble finely chiseled with gadroon and flowers at the corners.

Ornamentation in excellent quality gilded bronze decorated with an imposing female figure wearing a crown of roses, seated on a bench, busy looking at herself in a mirror that she holds in one hand and leaning on a terminal, decorated with a laurel crown and falling foliage landing in a basin.

Terminal containing the white enamel dial accompanied by fine golden hands. Dial highlighted by an outline of a row of pearls acting as glasses, set with a glass protecting the dial.

Original mechanism without modification. Chime from the hour and a half on an old bell.
