Julien Covenmaeker (1927-2003) Coffee Table Belgian School Juliette Belarti Edition

Here is a beautiful coffee table produced by the Belgian ceramist Julien Covenmaeker in his studio in Ostend circa 1960 under the name J.Belarti, his publishing house. This is a rare model for two reasons. First, this copy has measurements that are unusual in the artist's production, 110 cm in length but especially 63 cm in width. His tables are often much narrower and shorter. Second, the pattern of the decoration is not the most common, especially in this magnificent bright blue. This table is therefore composed of 28 glazed ceramic tiles. Its top rests on a satin black lacquered iron base. The table is signed. It is in exceptional condition considering its age, more than 60 years. Here is a very practical table due to its dimensions, very decorative and bright, all in an exceptional state of freshness.
