"Guillaud (claude) - In Sacrosanctum Iesu Christi Euangelivm Secvndvm Ioannem. At Roigny 1550."
GUILLAUD (Claude) - In sacrosanctum Iesu Christi Euangelivm secvndvm Ioannem. Enarrationes, Ivxta Ervditorvm sentiam factæ, per sacræ theologiæ doctorem, Claudium Guilliaudum Belliiocensem. Paris, Chez Jean Roigny, 1550; folio, 581 pp. + index, period full calfskin binding, spine decorated with 5 raised bands, boards stamped and struck in gold with a small medallion, marbled edges. Handwritten bookplate by Louis Bernard. Louis Bernard bought this work in 1632, he paid 6 pounds for it. Louis Bernard wrote several texts on the blank pages about his love of God. I quote the text on the first blank page: "Farewell, fickle sex, I have left your empire, I have recognized the harm that is done by serving you, you have favored those whom you should destroy and you have destroyed those whom you should cherish"... Beautiful Parisian impression of 16th century with the same printer's mark that Josse Bade used earlier. A trace of dampness on the work but not serious or affecting the text. Spine restored in the 20th century. 25 GUYOT (Edmé Gilles
