Important late 19th century Orientalist sculpture in polychrome and partially gilded bronze bearing the signature on the terrace: ANGLES (Joaquim Anglès 1865-1927 sculptor from Toulouse active from 1885 to 1905 he exhibited at the Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris from 1885 and was awarded a medal in 1899). Large subject titled "The Arab Sentinel" depicting a Moorish warrior holding a Mukahla flintlock rifle as well as various weapons in his belt such as a Koumiyya dagger and an Ottoman flintlock pistol. Good general condition and beautiful patina of time. Height: 90 cm X 22 cm wide.
