"Clock With Astronomical Loves, 18th Century"
Rare Louis XVI period clock in gilded bronze, subject embellished with numerous details on the theme of astronomy, base in red griotte marble. The original gilding of this clock is perfectly preserved. The dial and movement of this clock are signed Darmezin in Paris. We find a similar model with a white marble base in the encyclopedia of the French clock, Pierre Kjellberg, page 238, former Gismondi collection. The movement is original, only the wire suspension has been transformed into a blade as was often done in the 19th century. Indeed, the blade suspension is less fragile and more precise than the wire suspension. In perfect working order. Note that the armillary sphere at the top is mobile.
