"Marquesan Receptacle Containing A Tiki"
Very rare receptacle from the Marquesas Islands containing a monoxyle female Tiki. The tiki is part of the receptacle. The lid has a beautiful dark patina. The feet are removable. The whole is entirely engraved with traditional Marquesan motifs. The representation of Tiki like this one appeared towards the end of the 19th early 20th by sculptors who wanted to preserve and transmit their traditions. Do not hesitate to ask for photos
