"Georges Boin: Large Ewer / Claret Jug In Sterling Silver & Vermeil Crystal - Mascarons"
Extraordinary large Crystal Ewer / Claret Jug with solid silver mount. Mount decorated with a spectacular Mascaron under the spout, scrolls / rockeries, vine leaves / bunches of grapes, all on an amati background. Lid topped with a fretel with Pomegranates resting on its leafy terrace. Reminder decoration engraved on the Crystal part with among other things a duo of Mascarons on each side (see photo). Internal part of the mount in Vermeil (Gold on Silver). Hallmarks Minerva 1st Title (.950) and Hallmark of the prestigious Master Goldsmith Georges BOIN active from 1868. Extraordinary large Ewer / Claret Jug with rich decoration in very good condition, also revised and cleaned by our Goldsmith, micro-scratches from use. A pure marvel to discover through the attached photos ...

Georges Boin active from 1868 to 1881 before joining forces with Taburet was awarded at numerous Universal Exhibitions, starting in 1878 in Paris. He then shone at the 1889 exhibition, for his work inspired by the Louis XIV and Louis XV styles, himself being a fervent collector of 18th century goldwork. He had among other things in his collection the Ewer and its basin with the Braganza Coat of Arms made by François Thomas Germain. They also received a Grand Prix at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. Do not take into account the reflections in the photos.
