"Two Small Bronze Subjects: "jean Who Laughs" And Jean Who Cries", After Jean Antoine Houdon."
These two children's faces are the subject of an interesting physiognomic study. One is crying 'hot tears'; the other is laughing 'out loud'. JA Houdon made these models in larger dimensions. Ours date from the middle of the 19th century. They are very well based on "shower feet".
