"Boin-taburet - Imposing Vegetable Dish And Its Sterling Silver Minerva "
Vegetable dish and its interior fittings in solid silver by the master goldsmiths Boin and Taburet, active in the 19th century in Paris. It rests on a large molded pedestal with generous stylized foliage, the returns in scrolls. The body is circular, the throat united under a leafy collar with threads and ribbons motifs that can be found as a reminder on the slightly swollen lid. On the latter is screwed a magnificent fretel whose dominant element represents a cauliflower on its rich terrace of leaves, decorated with branches of celery, leek, turnip, etc., all chiseled with great realism. The double handles, superb, are brought back, imposing themselves largely on the body, following the movement of the base in an important and rich decoration of rushes intertwined with ribbons, their ends spreading on each side of the vegetable dish (handles and fretel also struck with the 950 minerva guarantee). The carving, of exceptional quality, is as fine and precise as that of the fretel. The interior trim (in solid silver) is provided with two stylized shell grips, thus facilitating its grip. Usual micro-scratches from use, no blows or dents, no deformation. Excellent conditions. Set maintained manually, in order to preserve the authenticity of the object. This covered vegetable dish is splendid and remarkably dense. Very beautiful piece struck several times with the hallmark of the Minerve 950 guarantee as well as that of the goldsmiths Georges Boin and Emile Taburet. Length, from one handle to the other: 31.5 cm. / 12. 4 in. Diameter at the rim: 23 cm. / 9. 1 in. Height at the fretel: 21 cm. / 8. 3 in. .
