Very elegant Louis XVI period pigeon dish or quail dish in solid silver with the hallmarks of the city of Ath in Belgian Hainaut. Hallmark of the year 1788. The edge of the tray is nicely chiseled with pearls and a rope-patterned thread . Traces on the back of this dish reveal how it was made. The cast silver edge was applied using rivets before being soldered. The dish weighs 450 grams
