Aline Mathilde Adèle BOISSET was born in Valence in 1884. She died in 1978. Known for her animal paintings, especially pet dogs, she exhibited many times at the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts from 1920 to 1944. This beautiful pastel represents a portrait of a dog (Belgian Griffon?) with a touching look. Aline Boisset appears in the "Illustrated Dictionary of Women Painters Who Lived and Exhibited in Lyon" by Patrick Pons. The dimensions of the painting with the frame are 35 cm x 29 cm.
