"Covered Pitcher In Rouen Earthenware, 18th Century"
Rare Rouen earthenware pitcher with a rotating decoration, a landscape, pagodas and "long ladies in black dresses" in the style of Chinese porcelain. The polychrome decoration with intense colors is composed of the five high-fire colors and black highlights. The hinged lid with a shell thumb is in silver with discharge punches. The pitcher dated 1737 is in excellent condition. Provenance: Henri Métais, art expert in Rouen Private collection
