Emile Isenbart is a French painter born in 1846 and died in 1921. He is a painter of landscapes and mythological subjects. He was a student of Clément Fanart. He appeared in Paris at the Salon, from 1872, then at the Salon des Artistes Français, he exhibited in Vienna and Munich. He obtained various awards including a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition. He was promoted to knight of the Legion of Honor in 1897. An artist from Franche-Comté, he translates the rustic character of the sites of his region into his landscapes.
