Beautiful work finely made by the Breton painter, Paul Pascal, which represents the festivities during a Fête du Pardon, most certainly in Saint-Anne-la-Palud.
This rare and beautiful scene is animated by many characters dressed in their traditional Breton clothes.
A student of the painter Albert Maignan in Paris, Paul Pascal exhibited at the Salon des artistes français from 1894, and became a member.
In love with Brittany, he produced many landscapes and genre scenes, mainly Cornish subjects: Douarnenez, Concarneau, Pont-Aven, Morgat, Sainte-Anne-La-Palud.
Dimensions: 27 x 35 cm without frame and 42.5 x 50.5 cm with its original Louis XV style gilded wood frame. Some old accidents are to be reported to the framework.
