The lid depicts the Triumph of Amphitrite on a very finely matted background. The side parts with finely guilloched ogee with geometric motifs in relief, the reverse decorated with a rocaille shell recall the marine theme of the box An object of virtue This snuff box perfectly embodies the precious object that any wealthy person had to possess.
