Henri Chantry, 1845-1930, Belgian architect and watercolourist. He was the brother of the painter Arthur Chantry. He was a professor at the Academy of Tournai from 1882 to 1884. His work celebrates the picturesque places of Tournai, Brussels, La Panne, as well as Normandy, Brittany and Provence. If he settled for a time in Liège, he spent most of his life in Tournai where he was an architect. He built many houses there in the Art Nouveau style. Most of them have disappeared or have been completely transformed. However, there remain in Tournai some beautiful Art Nouveau facades of his work and the house he had built in 1909 at 19 rue de Barges. Artist listed in Arto and Piron. Listed on Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc.
