"Empire Period Walnut And Gilt Bronze Table Psyche, Mirror, Dressing Table, Barber Shop, Early 19th Century"
Superb and very rare Empire period table psyche in solid walnut and walnut veneer. On a base supported by bronze lion claws, a box opening with a drawer supports two columns ending in a triangular pediment with gilded bronze eagles. The oval mirror is decorated with bronze stars. This is an unusual psyche, with slightly unusual dimensions and very luxurious ornamentation. Furniture to place on a console table or a chest of drawers. Pediment and drawer decorated with bronzes representing Mercury. No trace of a stamp although it must be the work of a great cabinetmaker. The mirror seems to have been changed. Empire period, early 19th century. Delivery in a wooden crate on a pallet by carrier, 150 euros in France, 300 euros in the EU and 600 euros rest of the world.
