"“arte Povera” Box For Hairpins, Venice, 18th Century."
Rare “arte povera” pin box (on a wooden core) with motifs distributed on all sides characteristic of this decorative “Venetian” process; decoration of small countryside and musical instruments in a general surround of fine flowers and small foliage. Box used to place the pins of hairstyles to be adjusted and held by both women and men for their wigs and hats; on the top is a trimmed fabric allowing them to be stuck in when washing, very old changed.
Beautiful object, in good condition, witness of its time, authentic; the fittings as well as the closure are original, the interior is lined perfectly well with a fine fabric in good condition.
