"Chinese Basket "
The traditional Chinese wedding basket is known by the Peranakans as Baku Sia or Sia-nah in Hokkien. "Bakul" means basket in Malay and "Siah" means auspiciousness in Hokkien. In Chinese culture, the engagement ceremony is also known as Guo Da Li. It is an important ceremony in both Chinese and Peranakan as it symbolises the groom's sincerity in marrying the bride!
