"Original Queen's Grey Hair Wig - France Late Louis XVI Period Circa 1789 "
Circa 1789-1793 * France Very rare mounted wig with long curly hair alternating from ash blond to gray, a color called Gray to the Queen in the 18th century. Mounting of the hair on a net in ecru cotton mesh. Frame circled and crossed with ribboned iron wires and flat irons. Rust oxidation on the metal parts and a few tiny holes in the net which is slightly extensible. The attachment of the real hair is stable and without damage. Precious and unique object. Very good condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: Height of the wig from the root of the forehead 15 cm, head circumference 56 cm, total height 60 cm, , volume circumference of the wig approximately 65 cm.
