Oil on canvas, hunting scene crossing a village. The painter depicts a very lively scene thanks to the large number of horses, represented in different postures and arches. Signature lower right, Moerenhout for Joseph Jodocus Moerenhout 1801–1875. Joseph Moerenhout trained in Belgium, before going to France and Italy, to make his art. Travels have marked his work which includes scenes of daily life. He captured picturesque views of cities, often integrating horses and hunting scenes.
