"Mid-19th Century Bressan Enamel Box"
Square box in enamel on copper and gilt bronze mount. The royal blue enamel is decorated with matte gold arabesque patterns enhanced with half pearls of white enamel and turquoise blue enamel. Fine silver spangles in the shape of scrolls play with the light. These radiant arabesque patterns stand out against the blue background. The gilt and chiseled bronze mount with pearl border frames these Bressans enamel plaques. The box rests on four leafy feet. Work from the second half of the 19th century, Napoleon III.
